Okay, picture yourself walking to your kitchen. I don't know how big it might be, or how far away it is from your computer screen, but for some people you might be getting hungry just from the long walk downstairs. Anyway, you are in your kitchen looking for a quick midnight snack to tide you over before you wake up and eat again. All day you have been craving one thing: a nice steamy ham and cheese Hot Pocket. You've been thinking about that Hot Pocket and how deliciously cheesy it will be and the warm feeling you will get as you chomp it down, eagerly awaiting the next bite. Finally, you are at your fridge and you see the Hot Pocket box! You reach inside, ready to get that nice tasty sort-of-sandwich and.. what? It's gone?!?! How can this be? There was one left in there this morning! You search and search the contents of your refridgerator, but with no positive results.
Slightly angered, you leave the kitchen and begin trying to determine which of your fellow housemates took that last Hot Pocket. Could it be your mom? No, no, she would have thought of you first - she is far too sweet. Your sister? No she's on some crazy diet again that doesn't allow the eating of.. well almost anything. Your dad? Possibly... but he's been at work all day. That only leaves one culprit - your little brother! It has to be him. You go to his room, bang on his door and yell "MATT!?" (Ok so I may have personalized this a bit). "Matt did you take the last Hot Pocket?" Matt responds, "Yes. Why?" Slightly frustrated at the fact that he did not even think of you, you tell him to come out of his room immediately. He does, but very reluctantly. "Matt I have been wanting that Hot Pocket all day... don't you ever think about anyone but yourself?!"
Now this is one way to handle a situation like this. Probably not the best at that. You may be very angry at that moment, however, the next time that you are faced with a hot (or lack thereof) and sticky situation like this, think about what would have happened if you had taken the last Hot Pocket......
You're sitting in your room minding your own business, maybe listening to some Cold Play or T.I., when you hear a rude and intrusive banging on your door. You open it to find a small head staring straight up at you with angry eyes. "You ate the last Hot Pocket didn't you!?!?!?" says the tiny head. "Yeah. You wanna do something about it?" "Uhh..." "Yeah, that's what I thought. Now run off."
Ok, so this time it still turned out in your favor, but think about how you would feel if you were a little brother. Come on now... think about it... there ya go, there's that pity. Alright, so now we've determined the source of anger in the common household!: Food! Sadly we can't get rid of food, so I'm pretty sure anger in the everyday household will stay the same. Oh well, better luck next time!

Just to clarify...
Alright, well obviously if you've read my blog yet (which isn't much at all haha) then you probably have noticed the link to it: www.theonlydunguy.blogspot.com
Some of you have already asked me what it means. My screen name on AIM is "theonlyguy7" and that's because when I was in high school (for 3/4 years) and I would go to lunch, the people at my lunch table were all girls and I was "the only guy"... the funny thing was that after my Sophomore year I had a completely new group, but they were still all girls. Also, I chose 7 as the number, because both years there were 7 people at our table. Anyway, that's why I picked The Only Guy for my blog, because it basically describes me. I have few guy friends simply for the fact that I find it easier to get along with girls. Nothing wrong with that right?
Most people I know already know what my screen name on AIM means, but I have had many people ask me what the "dun" part is for. Again, it has to do with a group of friends that I would hang out with. Any time someone said something deemed "stupid" or gave a boring story that seemed to have no point, you would have to say "And you're done". I was usually the one who heard that the most (lol). So being "dun" has just always been my thing. These days we don't say that as much... we actually say something else. Whenever you have a really boring story you either say "...and then I found five dollars!" or "...and then _____ came crashing through the window.. NAKED!"... OR you can say both if it was a really boring story.
So I know this has nothing to do with anything, but I just thought I would clarify what exactly the link to this blog means. Any more questions - you know what my screen name is ;).

A Day In the Life of The Only Guy
Wow.. It seems like forever since I last posted a blog.... Of course it wasn't on here and it was only 2 years ago, but who's counting. Still it's amazing how time flies by so quickly. Just yesterday my biggest worry was how do I get this last lego piece to fit in with the rest, or how many licks DOES it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop? Now I have things to think and worry about that may affect my entire life. Choices I make in college will help define me as a person and help to make me grow into the man that I believe I should become.
Anyway, enough of this mumbo jumbo... My name is Tyler B Quick (no joke), I'm 17 years old (18 on the 28th!!!) and I just graduated high school! I guess that's really why I've been thinking about where my life is going... I mean of all times, this is the time that you really should be thinking about that right? In the fall I'll be heading off to school at Appalachian State University! I can't wait! Since my Sophomore year I've been wanting to go to this school and when I heard that I got in, I was ecstatic!
This whole year has just flown by and I can't believe how quickly life goes by. Just think.. The people you know and love now - in 10 years, you may not know them as well as you used to and you may have a completely new set of friends and even family. Sure a decade seems like a long time, but I've already gone through nearly two of them.
Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to the future and what possibilities it holds, but how can anyone say that it's not scary? Of course I'm going to be nervous about my future, who wouldn't be? But I think that as long as I'm doing what I need to be doing, I'll be just fine.
Yes I know you probably don't want to be bored with all this deep stuff (lol, ok so its not some deep theological report, but it's deep enough for my mind to comprehend), but these are things people think about. I mean what's this blog for other than to share your thoughts and feelings with those who actually give a crap enough to read them? So to those who are reading this... thanks for putting your time into reading this load of random stuff. And to those not reading this... well you aren't reading so I won't say anything.
Looking forward to a great summer and an even greater Freshman year! Keep watch for future posts. :D
